~ Sir Furt refusing to listen his daughter Arcade's pleas in the Anime Dub
|
Sir Furt and Madame Furt are minor characters of the Overlord series who are former nobles and the parents of Arche Eeb Rile Furt, Ureirika Furt and Kuuderika Frut.
In English, Madame Furt was dubbed by Laura Faverty.
What Makes them Despicable?[]
- When Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix stripped the corrupted nobles of his Empire, their family was one of them affected and they refused to stop living like nobles by buying expensive items with loans and being unable to pay them back. Believing to show their pride and hope they regain it back when Jircniv dies, outliving him could’ve worked if they would’ve patiently waited and save their wealth in the meantime to have their family outlast Jircniv's reign instead of spending it on items to show off instead. This shows Sir Furt is foo prideful to wait.
- Because of their constant spending into debt, this forced their oldest daughter, Arche Eeb Rile Furt to quit magic school and become a Worker to pay off their debts.
- They refused to heed their eldest daughter's warnings and pleas to stop their reckless spending to the point of her planning on running away and taking her younger sisters once she finished her next job, which she sadly didn't return from.
- They are indirectly responsible for their elder daughter's death due to them forcing her to be a Worker and end up dying in the Great Tomb of Nazarick by Shalltear Bloodfallen. If not for their greed and arrogance to refuse to stop thinking they are nobles, Arche wouldn't have had to become a worker and could have avoided dying to Shalltear Bloodfallen.
- According to Overlord series creator Kugane Maruyama on his website, after Arche didn't make it back, they sold their two remaining daughters Ureirika and Kuuderika to slavery for money to pay off their debts, they eventually died from overwork meaning they were willingly to stoop that low by selling their remaining daughters to slavery to satisfy their greed, meaning Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nixwas in the right to strip their wealth in the first place as he usually only strip wealth of nobles he deem corrupted.
- While in the Web Novel, Ainz Ooal Gown did manage to save Ureirika and Kuuderika by buying them and reunite them with their elder sister Arche who survived, this isn't canon to the LN series.
- Their fates are unknown and while it is likely they eventually became unable to pay off their debts, their fates have not yet been revealed, meaning they remain unpunished for their actions, making them both Karma Houdinis.
Trivia[]
- While their counterparts in Overlord: Mass for the Dead mobile game do redeem themselves after realizing their wrongs after they attempted to make their youngest daughters bridal candidates instead of selling them to slavery in the story of the event Bride Who Hasn't Fallen In Love For A Long Time, it takes place in a different continuity, thus, it doesn't disqualify their main versions from Hate Sink.
- They are considered one of the most hated characters in the Overlord series by the fandom alongside Remedios Custodio for their greed and willingness to sell their own remaining two daughters to slavery which led to them dying from overwork while being unpunished for their actions.
