The Snake Demon, also known as the Serpent Demon, is a minor antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She was worshipped by the entire Iguro Family.

What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]

She slaughtered a lot of innocents in her time, offscreen as shown with the human skull collection she is sitting on in her first appearance.
Unlike any of the Upper Moons or any Demon, she lacks any "Evil is Cool" moments.
She made a deal with the Iguro clan to give her shelter from the sun and worship her like a god, in exchange for the clan sacrificing their own newborn offspring for her to munch on, while killing innocent people so the Iguros can receive the victims' money.
When the Iguros would get her one of their infant offspring, She would torture them first by either locking them in cages or removing parts of their bodies (luckily offscreen). She enjoys eating the infants, stating it was her favorite meal.
She attempted to eat Obanai Iguro as a newborn before having him spared for pragmatic reasons such as his eyes being different colors being rare and was only willing to wait for her moment to munch on him once he's gotten bigger.
Throughout Obanai's childhood, she kept him locked up in a cell and would eventually have his mouth slashed to resemble her mouth as a means to have herself feast on him, letting him suffer before being eaten by her.
When Obanai escaped the cell She put Him in, She brutally massacred almost all 50 of the Iguros (minus the surviving cousin), in a fit of rage offscreen, However the Iguros completely 100% deserved it for their assistance in her murders and sacrificing their own newborn children to Her.
She tries to murder Obanai while chasing him through the forest, only to be killed by the active Flame Hashira of the time, Kyojuro Rengoku's father, Shinjuro Rengoku, in a extremely unsatisfying death as she was just sliced into pieces, instead of suffering way more.
Shinjuro kills her with total ease and without her even noticing him, showing us how weak and pathetic she was.
Even after her death, her actions had given Obanai PTSD and was completely traumatized (as shown as he thinks his family's hatred is clinging on to him), and his cruelty toward the weak.
Although she is a flashback character(only appearing in 188) and not even one of the Twelve Kizuki, her hobby of eating newborns easily makes her stand out the absolute worst and most hatable of the average demons.

Trivia[]

She, the Spider Sister, and Ubume, are the only female Hate Sinks in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Snake Demon has similar dots to Doma. The similarity is that the two demons eat only certain humans and are praised by humans, the Iguros are very similar to the Eternal Paradise Cult. however she is a hate sink while Doma is not as he is much more entertaining than she is and made to be viewed as 3d dimensional. (if Doma was intended to be hated, he would be certainly on this wiki)
