Stanley "Stan" Practice and Sandra Practice (or Mr. and Mrs. Practice) are a pair of one-time villains from the Cartoon Network original series, The Powerpuff Girls, only appearing in the episode "Girls Gone Mild". They are a parody on "Standards and Practices".
Stan and Sandra Practice are characterized very strict couple, who do not want The Powerpuff Girls to fight crime or use their powers, as they believe it is a shining example of the dangerous and senseless violence that happens in their city, as well as being a bad influence on their community's youth. They refuse to acknowledge the fact that The Powerpuff Girls' violence saves their town from even greater and far more deadly threats.
Stanley was voiced by Daran Norris, while Sandra was voiced by Susan Blakeslee.
What Makes Them A Hate Sink?[]
- They are extremely cruel to the Powerpuff Girls, as they ban them from using their powers as they think it might be impressionable to younger kids. Even worse, they threaten that they'll sue Professor Utonium.
- They never show that much evidence of the normal kids in Townsville destructively pretending to act like the Powerpuff Girls aside from showing Professor Utonium their petition to stop the girls' superpowers with all the parents signing it.
- Thanks to their invalid and unreasonable ban, saving the day from crime became more tedious and difficult with the police getting overwhelmed with the number of calls they received, and the crime rate became higher than usual to the point where it was also happening in cities outside of Townsville.
- Even when they see with their own eyes all the danger that is encompassing Townsville, they still refuse to destroy the contract, putting the entire city at risk due to their egotism.
- They only decided to destroy the contract and let the girls use their powers when they themselves were in danger of being eaten by the Dooks of Doom, meaning they're hypocritically throw away their own morality just to save themselves.
- While Stanley and Sandra Practice do get a bit of comeuppance (as they nearly get eaten by the Dooks of Doom), it's too light to be considered karma, given that the Powerpuff Girls rescue them, and isn't played for satisfaction.
- They have no comedic moments and they take things 100% seriously. At least Princess Morbucks, despite being a hate sink too, had her comedic moments.
- While they're not as vile and fail in heinous actions to Princess Morbucks, Sedusa, Femme Fatale, The Rowdyruff Boys, Mojo Jojo, Him or Dick Hardly, they're still the bad influence stereotypes that make superheroes look like monsters and lack any cool qualities.
