Stygian is the main antagonist of a My Little Pony fanfic, Into the Mirror World.
He is weak and envious Pony who after leaving his town and was unpopular than the rest of the ponies who were magical and famous, wanted to give them pain and suffering for what they caused on him by releasing the Pony of Shadows to destroy all of magic and Equestria to rule as his own, resulting in the deaths of the Mane Six and causing Thorax to enter the Mirror World.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Unlike the original who was sympathetic and redeemed, this version is shown to be envious and selfish who wanted to become powerful and better than the rest of the ponies out of sheer pettiness.
- He released the Pony of Shadows to curse the Tree of Harmony to destroy all of magic and later fuse himself with it to destroy Equestria, leading to several ponies suffering, killed, and even trapped in a fate worse than death.
- He is indirectly responsible for the Mane Six deaths after stealing their magic and soul, taunting their deaths to Spike and their loved ones before stealing their souls too.
- He manipulates Thorax into believing the Tree of Harmony is a god to make him worship it to later have his soul and powers stolen.
- He selfishly mocks everypony for simply having better magic than him, wanting them dead and have their powers for his own needs.
- He is shown to be a coward as he cowardly runs away from Chrysalis and Sombra when he failed to manipulate them into joining the Tree of Harmony.
- He refuses to take responsibility and admit he's in the wrong despite the horrible actions and atrocious he done for a selfish and petty reason.
- He doesn't care about the Pony of Shadows or Tree of Harmony and only sees them as opportunities to become the strongest pony in the world.
- When Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon confronted him about his actions, he cowardly starts begging for mercy and put the blame on the ponies who him made them suffered and abandoned before then killing her and later her sister with a dagger.
- After the two's death, he immediately tries to run away to refuse himself with the Pony of Shadows before being tackled by an enraged Chrysalis and brutally beamed by her magic, causing him to lose control and power of the Darkness.
- His death is well deserved as he gets brutally killed by the Tree of Harmony after it betrays him.
