Tatsu or Tacchan is a minor and overarching antagonist from the popular manga and anime One Punch Man. He is a popular kid and childhood bully of Garou (One of the main antagonists of One Punch Man) who is responsible for the latter's villainous and negative attitude toward heroes in his adulthood.
He is voiced by Arisa Sekine in the Japanese dub and Lauren Landa in the English dub.
What makes him a Hate Sink?[]
- He would use his popularity within the school to get away with bullying social outcasts, which included Garou, who was his frequent victim.
- He is also somewhat stupid and delusional and sees himself as "the hero" in the hero games he played, despite being the complete opposite of everything a hero is supposed to be.
- When Garou tells him not to jump off of a high perch and kick a bystander, Tacchan declares Garou to be a monster and attempts to attack Garou. When Garou dodges the attack, Tacchan gets upset and asks two of his friends to hold Garou down while he kicks Garou in the face, all while calling Garou "Garo Poop Man." He would continue to pin Garou as the monster and himself as the hero.
- He is also shown to be a weak coward, as he relies on the number of his friends to take on others who try to stand up to him, which includes Garou.
- When Garou gets sick of Tacchan and challenges him to a fight, with the conditions being that if Garou won, Tacchan would leave him alone. Tacchan believes it was just a stupid hero game and instead tells two of his friends to hold Garou down, allowing him to kick Garou all while name calling him. Due to his popularly, he is made out to be a "good" boy while Garou is made out to be the " unreasonable bad guy".
- He never gets repercussions for his actions and gets away with his bullying, and he remain beloved by the school, while Garou became a social outcast hated by the school, including his teachers, who all blamed Garou whenever he reported Tacchan's bullying. Garou wouldn't encounter Tacchan again in his adulthood, and thus he was unable to exact his well-deserved revenge on Tacchan, making Tacchan a Karma Houdini.
- Overall, he proves himself to be a heartless bully who used his natural charm and high popularity within the school to get away with inflicting harm on those who are considered lower than him and is responsible for Garou's Start of Darkness, which caused Garou to seek the path of becoming an all-powerful, absolutely evil monster in order to shake up the unfair status quo, where those who are popular will always win while those who are hated will always lose.
