Theodor Faro, also known as Ted Faro is the overarching antagonist of the Horizon franchise. Originally the world's first trillionaire and the leader of Faro Automated Solutions which created green robots to save the world in 2040s, Faro's greed took over as he took military orders to create perfect robots for peacekeeping, which caused extinction of life on Earth.
He is voiced by Lloyd Owen.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Faro filed lawsuits against Elisabet Sobeck due to seeing her company, Miriam Technologies as a direct threat to FAS.
- Authorized Chariot line of Robots despite Elisabet and his team's warning, which went rogue on life after a glitch.
- Although he funded Zero Dawn, it's only because Elisabet Sobeck threatened to ruin his public image.
- Faro didn't care about the billions of humans and wildlife being slaughtered by his machines, he only cared about his reputation.
- He coerced Hank Shaw into building a backdoor into GAIA and Zero Dawn in order to subvert the process of rebuilding the world.
- He deleted APOLLO and all the backups, so that the future generation doesn't learn his culpability in the apocalypse.
- Killed all Zero Dawn personnel after the said sabotage.
- Forced Dr. Somptow into installing kill-switches in all the bunker's residents.
- Doesn't take any responsibility for the apocalypse, instead blaming everyone and the technology, even though it was him and his demands being the reason the Chariot line was unable to be shut down in time.
