Comparatively, my brother's collection of simple coins made of souls is rather uninspired. With my collection, you can have dress up and have actual chats. Let me show you. This little show stabber is named Sonia. She can wax poetics about her many passionate love stories. She has such exquisite skin. Anyone would be proud to own her.
~ Terence T. D'Arby mocking his brother and pervertedly touching Sonia.

Terence T. D'Arby is a minor antagonist in the anime/manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. He is DIO butler and the brother of Daniel J. D'Arby, who force Jotaro, Joseph and Kakyoin to play his deadly games.

In Japanese, he was voiced by Eiji Takemoto in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future and Junichi Suwabe in both JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle and the anime. In English, he was voiced by Xander Mobus in the anime's English dub.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

  • He reveals to the Joestar group that he collects several people's souls and turns them into his dolls. Unlike his brother, who kept his victims in an unconscious state, he keeps them in a state of never ending pain and suffering, with the only thing that his victims can do is beg and cry.
    • It's also mentioned that Terence likes to change the clothes of his dolls, even disturbingly touching one named Sonia, with means that he enjoys to sexually abuse them, simply for his own sadistic and perverted pleasure.
  • During his entire encounter with the Joestar group, he keeps a clearly false gentlemanly demeanor to mock them and get under their nerves.
  • When being asked by Jotaro why he chose Kakyoin to fight first, he answers that if Jotaro and Joseph were to lose first, Kakyoin wouldn't attack him "due to lack of familiar attachment," basically saying that Kakyoin wouldn't care about them.
  • He gives himself an unfair advantage in the race when playing against Kakyoin by mashing the accelerator button to give himself a lead.
  • When coming to the speed tunnel, he mocks Kakyoin by saying that he can't push him aside because he used his power meter to block Terence at the beginning of the race, despite basically forcing Kakyoin to do it.
  • He purposefully let himself get knocked aside by Kakyoin to gain an a big advantage for the race by being knocked on to the track closer to the finish, even sadistically mocking him.
  • He takes Kakyoin's soul and turns him in to a doll, sadistically saying that he will treasure his company.
  • He mocks Jotaro and Joseph by saying that if they kill him, Kakyoin's soul will be gone, perversely touching the doll version of him.
  • In the past, he said that he brutally beat his brother after he found out he flirted with his girlfriend, even breaking his ribs and kicking him until he vomited blood, causing him to be terrified of Terence. Although to be fair, Daniel likely deserved it as he was 25 and Terence's girlfriend presumably around 15 (Terence's age at the time).
  • He tries to shake Jotaro's confidence by changing his own pitcher and saying where he is going to throw the ball.
  • Despite condemning his brother and others for cheating, he reads his opponent's mind in order to have an advantage against them, showing how hypocritical he really is.
  • When Jotaro manages to cheat thanks to Joseph using his Stand to help, he throws a childish tantrum at him, despite doing the same thing himself.
  • Unlike his brother Daniel, who has many likable traits such as charisma and a sense of honor, he has none of them and is just a sadistic madman.
  • Him losing the game, along with all of his confidence and getting brutally beaten up by Jotaro are all played for satisfaction.
    • Additionally, Jotaro bruised Terence's ego by claiming that the latter’s brother is much better at deducing and is more of a worthy opponent.

Trivia[]

  • Terence's Japanese VA, Junichi Suwabe would return voicing Leone Abbacchio in Golden Wind.
