Get out of the house!
~ The Invader's most famous quote.
But I think everything will be solved. I think I'll reveal everything to you. And soon, really soon, you will know everything. You'll find out everything. And also will find out... who I am.
~ The Invader telling Rezende he'll soon know his history.

The Invader is the titular main antagonist of rezendeevil's 2017 first live-action horror webseries Invasor: A Série (Invader: The Series), which was based on real life events with the same youtuber.

He is the sadistic lost twin brother of Pedro Rezende who wishes to either psychologically or even phisically torture him, or even outright kill him, as revenge for the accident he cause in their past that killed their parents and permanently scarred his face, making him be left aside and looked at with disgust by everyone while Pedro got all the love from everyone. However, due to how extreme his crimes are, he ends up subverting all the sympathy and tragedy his past could have on him.

The one who portrayed him through most of the series while masked remains unknown. While near the end, he was portrayed by Pedro Rezende/rezendeevil himself when the character wasn't sharing the scene with the protagonist, and when they were both sharing screen, he was portrayed by the then channel manager Ace.

What makes him a Hate Sink?[]

  • Despite the tragedy in his backstory involving his twin Pedro accidentally setting their old house on fire while playing with candles, which killed both their parents and made The Invader's life a true hardship afterwards, The Invader seems to still acknowledge the obvious fact that Pedro was way too young at the time when he caused the accident to know what he was doing, since he was 3 years old, but even so insisted in tormenting Pedro as if he had caused it all on purpose, which means The Invader was delusional to think he was delivering some kind of "justice" by making Pedro suffer despite the latter being his own brother, even with Pedro emphasizing multiple times that he didn't remember any of that.
    • Besides, the tragedy of his past is subverted altogether by how extremely far he goes into his crimes just to psychologically torment Pedro, even going as far as to put innocent lives at risk while forcing him to deal with it and guilt tripping him to make him believe he was to blame for their suffering most times.
  • Despite claiming various times that he wasn't a killer and even displaying some hesitation before trying to kill some of his victims, which could be interpreted as an insecurity, this is eventually subverted since The Invader always proceeded to try and kill them anyway. This also eventually turns into a completely hypocritical claim since The Invader makes clear how killing people is what he personally enjoys to the point that even The Invader himself recognizes how much he liked tormenting and killing people, but still shamelessly dared claiming he wasn't a killer and saying that he didn't kill some of his victims such as Virgínia or Ace, although Pedro and his friends already knew it was obviously him who had killed him, and with the only exception being Cadet Rodrigues, whom he proudly admits to have enjoyed killing.
    • He even blames the death of his victims on either the victims themselves or on stuff he killed them with, like when he blames Virgínia's death on the poison he used to kill her, tells himself that the one to kill Rezende, Adriano and Dexter would be the gas he tried to asphyxiate them with and not him, and blames Ace for his own death, although it was obviously The Invader who murdered him.
    • To add further insult, he has the shamelessness to say that he isn't a killer even on obvious situations, like when he says he wasn't going to kill Rezende's adoptive younger brother João the time he kidnapped him despite having audibly ordered the Pixador to murder him via phone call.
  • He invades the house where Pedro, Dexter and Pokey had just moved to, and vandalizes it by breaking objects inside, trapping them in the attic and leaving a note threatening them should they not move out.
  • He breaks into the house in the middle of the night, possibly with the intention to kill Rezende and his two friends.
  • He poisons one of Rezende's beverages, which makes him convulse and almost die had he not arrived at the hospital in time. This even makes Pokey afraid enough to betray Pedro and Dexter and moving out to someone else's house.
  • He makes a girl named Virgínia work for him as his informant while spying on the dwellers.
  • He knocks out Cadet Rodrigues and Pedro, later locking Pedro in a pantry at the backyard of the house, where he got migraines and fainted.
  • Disarmed Rodrigues' gun and threatened to kill him if he didn't stop thwarting his plans, which scared Rodrigues enough to actually make him quit his job temporarily.
  • Disrupted Pedro and Adriano's livestream by trying to break into the office and possibly try to kill them, since he is caught on camera with a knife in his hand.
  • When he heard the dwellers' plan to capture him through a walkie talkie left in his office by Virgínia, he bribed a nearby graffiti vandal to go on his place.
  • After being goaded by the dweller to go to his house, he kept threatening Pedro and offending him for refusing to leave the house, and gave him 24 to leave or he would kill him.
    • He then tried to kill Pedro the next day after his deadline was up despite Pedro's pleas not to do it since he didn't know him or the reason why he was doing all that.
      • Even after being saved by Rodrigues, he was still etremely distraught to the point he genuinely considered leaving the house.
  • He declined Virgínia's offers to forget Pedro and live a normal life and then killed her in cold blood while claiming she wouldn't "cause problems" to him anymore, even mockingly saying that it was time for them to say goodbye.
  • He bribed his next pawn, Stella Abreu, with 100.000 reais in cash for her to date Pedro and then manipulate him into doing what he wanted, which led to a serious fight between him and Adriano and the threat on Pedro's adoptive mother.
  • Kidnaped the dwellers and take them to a shed where he kept taunting and threatening them just because his music box had been stolen.
  • Called Stella offensive slurs before letting her go from the shed just so she couldn't be a pain for him anymore, dismissing her since she had already been paid.
  • Attempted to kill Pedro, Adriano and Dexter in a gas chamber while hypocritically saying he didn't kill Virgínia and wasn't going to be guilty for their deaths.
  • He kidnapped Pedro's adoptive younger brother João, who was 15, and made Pedro meet him in a place where they had to be alone or he would kill João if he didn't obey him.
    • However, even after Pedro complied with The Invader's demands and insisted that João had nothing to do with him, The Invader still sadistically tricked Pedro into believing he was going to release João only for him to immediately order João's death and turning on the loudspeaker so Rezende could her the gunshot that supposedly killed his brother loud and clear.
    • While Pedro and The Invader fought after The Invader was convinced that João had died, he kept provoking Pedro about how he had "failed" to save his brother and even said that he didn't know whether or not his parents were safe either.
  • After failing to kill João, he kidnaps Adriano while he was home alone and keeps his away from Pedro during 25 whole days, during which he also brutally tortured him.
  • He sent Pedro a bloody heart in a cardboard box to inflict despair on him and make him think he had killed Adriano, when in reality that was a goat's heart.
  • Had his fourth helper shoot Pedro in the stomach so he could be weak enough to stay in his house and have a conversation with him.
    • Although the time of their conversation can be considered a sympathetic moment for The Invader, any sympathy from this scene is shed in the subsequent episodes when he comes back to being his sadistic self.
  • Threatened to kill his helper's entire family, especially his little sister (who is heavily implied to be under 10) if he failed to kill Rodrigues the next time.
  • He left his helper to die at the hands of Rodrigues and showed no regard for him in afterwards.
  • Exploited Rezende's possession of his poison by trying to manipulate him into killing Cadet Rodrigues, but with heavy implications he wouldn't keep his end of the deal at all, as even Rodrigues points that out.
  • Falsely promised to keep his end of the deal if he showed him Rodrigues' corpse, and threatened Pedro after he told him to immediately let Adriano go after he showed it to him, saying he was the one to decide when and whether he was doing that or not.
  • Even though he releases Adriano, it was only part of another scheme he had to indirectly kill Adriano via manipulation, where he said he had the antidote to cure Adriano from the supposedly deadly substance he had infected him with before setting him free, but with the antidote being the actual poison that would have killed him if Pedro had given it to him.
    • While explaining this to Rodrigues, he displays clear mockery towards him, calling him stupid for thinking he would allow himself to be caught that easily without having another card up his sleeves and taking pleasure in seeing him reluctantly releasing him from his custody.
  • Even after he revealed his backstory as the reason to why he became so sadistic towards Pedro, it is not played for sympathy nor genuine tragedy for The Invader. Instead, it's treated as one of the major reasons to why The Invader had no excuse for his actions whatsoever, since, as described in the first topic, Pedro was just 3 years old when he caused the accident, and thus wasn't guilty at all. Not to mention that even the main characters recognize that, despite everything The Invader went through, his past wasn't enough to justify the gravity of all his crimes, thus making his backstory be treated as rather petty instead of valid.
  • Upon revealing himself to Pedro, he tried to guilt trip him for what happened and angrily yelled at him saying he was going to kill him.
  • Manipulated Rodrigues into meeting him at a wasteland to fight him unarmed and plays dead after benig shot to lure Rodrigues towards him, where he gives the final strike by stabbing him with a poison knife and sadistically enjoys watching him die slowly and painfully.
    • He later cuts the banner with his name after his funeral for no reason, althought it's implied he did so to symbolize how much he hated Rodrigues.
    • This is one of his two worst MEH's, the former one being his attempt to murder João, confirming that he is completely beyond redemption, and making him be even more hated not just by the characters but by the audience as well, with Adriano even telling Rezende that he couldn't further his desire to try and redeem his brother anymore.
  • Provokes Rezende via Cadet's cellphone by telling him how much he enjoyed watching Rodrigues die, with him even describing how his death was in as many details possible so as to inflict even more rage on Pedro, and how proud he was of himself for being a cold-blooded killer, even saying he would like to have a brother who was sadistic like himself.
  • Hypocritically kept blaming Pedro for the monster he had become and said that he was the true monster out of them two, even after blatantly admitting that he was evil because he enjoyed it, and that everything he did to him and his loved ones was his own fault, with Pedro calling him out and clarifying to him that he had no blame in anything he did and that he simply chose to be what he is today.
  • Tried to kill Pedro one last time while also encouraging him to kill him so he could consider him as a killer equal to himself, which was the very thing Pedro swore not to do, no matter how much The Invader deserved it.
  • His death is played for satisfaction, with the main trio, Pedro, Adriano and Dexter, being relieved with him finally dead and that his threat was finally over once and for all.
    • While it's true Pedro wanted to turn himself in to the police after that, this has nothing to do with The Invader in particular, but rather because Pedro was horrified and remorseful to believe he was responsible for killing someone at all, which thankfully Adriano reassures Pedro otherwise as even Pedro himself told Adriano and Dexter that The Invader's death was caused accidentally while they were fighting the night before. Besides, Adriano points out valid reasons as to why The Invader's death was rightfully justified regardless of its cause being accidental or not, like self-defense, considering all the horrible crimes The Invader has committed to this point.

Trivia[]

  • With Invader: The Series being the very first live-action fictional series that rezendeevil created on his channel, this makes The Invader one of the two first hate sinks (alongside Pokey) from rezendeevil's channel.
  • Ironically enough, The Invader is played for laughs in the bloopers, making a huge contrast to his hateful and taken-serious canon counterpart.
  • He is so far one of the four Hate Sinks from rezendeevil's channel.
  • While the final scene of the series implies that The Invader somehow survived, there isn't enough evidence to prove to confirm that theory, and besides, with the lack of a continuation or a further explanation of what it means, it's left up to theories about who the characters in the group of masked people in said scene are, making arise not only the theory that The Invader could indeed actually be alive, but also many others, such as the probability of them being actually new characters who wish to avange The Invader's death.
    • With all that, it's still safe to assume that The Invader's defeat is also his death.
