~ The "Lies" Fish mocking SpongeBob when the latter tried to cope with Squidward's suicide. |
ā | Stop lying to yourself. You can't live without that snail! You lived almost your entire life on him! You're not helping yourself at this point, Sponge. How sad. Even your own snail thinks you are such a pathetic, needy sponge. Your lifelong friend, who was there since the days of your young age, has finally left you after finally finding someone better. ~ The Fish gaslighting SpongeBob into thinking Gary left him for Patrick during "Bootleg Spongebob". |
The "Lies" Fish is the main antagonist of the VibingLeaf adaptions of the SpongeBob creepypastas, "Lies" and "Bootleg Spongebob". He's a giant red fish resembling the Nickelodeon Logo who torments Spongebob psychologically by mocking him when the latter tries to cope with Squidward's death in "Lies". He also returns in "Bootleg Spongebob" to continue mocking Spongebob when the latter thought Gary was about to leave him for Patrick.
What makes him a Hate Sink?[]
- Unlike his original counterpart who, in the original creepypasta only briefly exists as an attempt to creep readers out and therefore lacks characterization, this version is an otherworldly being whose only characteristic so far is being a psychological abuser who psychologically torments SpongeBob for fun, playing a major role into SpongeBob's downward spiral.
- In Lies, he makes fun of Spongebob for pretending that Squidward is still alive in an attempt to deal with the latter's suicide. He does this not because he wants Spongebob to get over Squidward's passing but because it amuses him.
- In Bootleg Spongebob, he returns once again to continue mocking and emotionally abusing SpongeBob when the latter believes Gary is about to leave him for Patrick.
- In that same video, he calls Spongebob who was experiencing emotional distress, a "pathetic, Needy sponge", guilt-tripping SpongeBob into thinking that Gary dislikes him and that Gary thinks Patrick is better than him, which is not true after all.
- He cruelly shouts at SpongeBob at the end of his tirade, asking him if he understands how pathetic he sounds.
- He has received no onscreen repercussions for his actions, and it's shown onscreen that he has succeeded in psychologically tormenting SpongeBob, making him a Karma Houdini.
- It's also possible that after the video, he continues to drove SpongeBob much deeper into his downward spiral that he could have drove him the latter into suicide.
- Overall, despite appearing in two short videos, he can be considered the most hate-able and despised character within the VibingLeaf universe due to his personality and his tendency of pushing SpongeBob down into a deep downward spiral and possibly his suicide because it amuses him, with all of his actions being taken seriously. Even the other characters from VibingLeaf have at least one redeeming quality, from either being sympathetic and tragic such as Herobrine and 'That Man' or having a terrifying Evil is Cool presence such as the "Repaired" version of Jeff the Killer and the Wendigoon from The Grieving Re-Take, whereas the 'Lies' Fish lack any of these.
Trivia[]
- So far, he's the only Fanon Hate Sink from VibingLeaf that was adapted from a piece of a creepypasta.
