~ The Night Owl to Mordecai, Rigby, Muscle Man, and High Five Ghost. |
The Night Owl is the titular main antagonist of the Regular Show episode of the same name. He is a greedy, fame-hungry radio station host who will do anything to become famous forever, even if it involves manipulating and hurting people.
He was voiced by Roger Craig Smith.
What Makes Him A Hate Sink?[]
- He held a contest where a vintage muscle car was offered as the prize to the last person standing on top of a huge billboard. The remaining contestants, (and would-be winners) Mordecai, Rigby, Muscle Man, and High-Five Ghost, planned to share the car, which would end the contest. He manipulated them into fighting each other by lying to each of them, saying the other was gonna take the car for himself, and froze them in liquid nitrogen to preserve his popularity. It was clear that he never intended to give the car to the rightful winners.
- Furthermore, when the group was thawed, they found themselves in the year 4224 AD, indicating that Night Owl had kept them frozen for centuries. This selfish act robbed the friends of their lives for the sake of Night Owl's own fame.
- Built a museum around the contest's location dedicated to himself with a display case with the contest's billboard and car, as well as the frozen tent the gang is in.
- When the gang gets thawed and tries to escape, he demands them to go back to the tent they were frozen in to be frozen again.
- After returning to their time, the gang destroys the prize car and the contest to stop Night Owl from achieving fame, resulting in him losing a lot of money from his student loans. Muscle Man then knocks him out with a swift punch to the face, leading to his karmic defeat and presumingly arrested.
- Overall, he is a greedy and selfish jerk whose only concerns are to become famous and rich by any means necessary, even if it involves manipulation, dishonesty and cheating, not caring at the slightest about the well-being of others.
