	~ Lucy as she murders Tomoo and the other bullies into gory remains out of revenge.

Tomoo is one of the overarching antagonists of the anime and manga series Elfen Lied. He served as an important catalyst that ultimately turned Lucy into a homicidal maniac, and he's also the reason for her deep hatred towards humanity as well as the cause of many innocent people's deaths at her hands in the future. He made his first appearance in the eighth episode of the anime, and the 32nd chapter of the manga.

He was voiced in Japanese by Reiko Takagi and by Chris Patton in the English dub.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

While it is mentioned by Lucy that he seeks to bring pain to people who are even worse than him feeling weak himself, it is not played with any sympathy and does not come close to justifying his actions.
He and his friends bullied Lucy just because of the horns on her head and they bullied her further when she shut down emotionally in order to deal with the pain they caused her.
When he and his gang found the puppy Lucy was taking care of, Tomoo proceeded to throw and kick it against the wall and grabbed a vase (a rock in the manga) and sadistically beat the dog to death, continuing to do so until it stopped moving, which drove Lucy to insanity and to murder him and all of the bullies into gory remains out of revenge.
He had his gang hold Lucy and force her to watch him kill the puppy, driving Lucy to point of murdering him and all of the bullies out of revenge and insanity.
He has absolutely no redeeming qualities or positive traits, not even having an "Evil Is Cool" vibe like other villains.
His and his partners' actions still affect Lucy to this day and is basically responsible for all her murders given, as he is the reason why she is the homicidal and maniacal misanthrope she is now.
He and his gang told Lucy (Kaede at that time) that she was not human, when obviously it was the other way around, the worst thing is that even when committing the murder of the puppy Tomoo he kept saying it, and not satisfied with that he repeats it as a spirit denying the guilt of his actions, and the most infamous phrase being "The world is only for humans", showing that even with whatever has led him to be the way he is, he is and will always be a hypocritical heartless monster.

Tomoo, along with his Partners, the Unknown Man and Mayu's Parents are the only Elfen Lied hate sinks.
