~ Tower's infamous quote. |
Tower is a minor antagonist of the 1991 Universal animated short film, The Little Engine That Could. He is the director of the roundhouse that contains five engines, including Tillie.
He was voiced by Neil Ross.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- After Tillie pulls Farnsworth out of the shed, Tower yells at Tillie for bickering with Farnsworth, not wanting to waste a minute with his schedule, further demonstrating that Tower can be impatient with his schedule.
- When Tillie tries to take Jebediah's place to pull the milk train, Tower rudely told Tillie that she's "too little" to pull trains, further demonstrating that he can be prejudice against Tillieās dream to pull trains like the other engines.
- At first, Tower asks Tillie if she wanted to pull the Birthday Train, but it turns out that he went as far to blatantly deny her request to help Georgia out with the Birthday Train to go over the mountain. This can further imply that he doesn't even care that the Birthday Train will make it over the mountain and is not aware about Georgia being broken down and when the three other engines: Farnsworth, Pete and Jebediah all decline to pull the Birthday Train before heading back to the roundhouse after pulling the respective trains that Tower assigned them.
- The only karma he received was being sneezed on by the cough of Pete, whom he assigned to pull freight cars with newspapers and printing machines.
- He doesnāt show remorse for his strict and authoritarian attitude towards Tillie.
- Overall, his negative and foul-tempered behavior makes him one of the two least loved characters, along with Grumpella, and is likely one of the reasons why The Little Engine That Could had suffered a pacing issue.
