| ~ Unknown Man kicking Wanta nearly killing the dog. |
The Unknown Man is a minor character in the Elfen Lied series. He appears only in the manga.
His name is a fan-derived one, but it seems to be universal. A master hunter and assassin, he is also a sadistic pedophile and child molester who absolutely revels in the pain he brings.
At first, he appears to be relatively civil and gentlemanly, but he soon reveals his true colors as one of most cruel and evil, otherwise the most evil, in the entire series.
His appearance in the series is brief but intensely memorable, again even allowing for the rest of the series.
What Makes Him Despicable?[]
- He is considered one of the most vile and disgusting villains (even more so than Tomoo and his gang) as he is sadistic mercenary who committed acts of rape even on minors as he made a bet if he catches Lucy then Dr. Arakawa must be his slave or attempting to rape Mayu meaning he's also a pedophile.
- While he has his tracker device and cool looking crossbow, and his fight with Bando, these are minor "Evil is Cool" factors that slightly detract him from his Hate Sink status with latter making Bando the one to rooted for by the audience to defeat the Unknown Man, and the former was actually made from a Silpelit Diclonius.
- He is a pedophile who was implied to have raped an Silpelit Diiclonus which most age faster being 3 years resembling 6-8 years old before turning her into tracking device that made her suffering which was sensed by Nana that scarred, it doesn't help Diclonius are already horribly treated as it is.
- He breaks into the Maple Inn and causing chaos causing chaos injuring Nana and attempting to rape Mayu.
- When Wanta attempted to protect its friend he kicked it and nearly killed the dog meaning he engages in animal cruelty.
- When Mayu attempted to stand up to herself he tortured her and nearly got to her had Bando intervened.
- He would attempt to torture Mayu through Bando and when he seemly got him, Bando didn't give up where his defeat of being driven by Bando is played for satisfaction.
- This also shows he preys on those weaker than him but unable to stand up to someone equal or stronger than him as well making him a petty bully.
- He would attempt to get Lucy during her fight with Bando saving her and attempting to fake his kindness to make her trust him.
- Despite saving Lucy and faking his kindness he failed to reach her, and he would be violently killed by having his head blown off by her and used as a weapon, which is played for karmic satisfaction for his horrible atrocities.
Trivia[]
- While he is very vile, due to not making it into the Elfen Lied anime people are more familiar with, he has less hate compared to Hate Sinks like Tomoo or Director Kakuzawa that did make it into the anime adaptation. Had he made it into the Anime had it continued it would've been a different story.
