Wat Tambor is a minor antagonist in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and a recurring antagonist in the animated TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
He is a male Skakoan from the planet of Skako Minor. He was the Foreman of the Techno Union, an executive and leader of the Baktoid Armor Workshop, and held the title of Emir of Ryloth. Leading up to the Clone Wars, he joins other known business leaders and corporate heads, who had all joined up with Count Dooku and became members of the newly formed Confederacy of Independent Systems, and he becomes a member of the Separatist Council. Over the course of the Clone Wars, Tambor leads the Confederacy throughout the galaxy and supplies their armies with weapons and droids.
He was voiced by Matthew Wood, who also voiced General Grievous in the same franchise.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- While he did join the separatists, this was out of greed rather than loyalty, given how he refuses to retreat until he plundered every single valuable on the planet Ryloth and ignores Count Dooku and TX-20.
- He is the one who supplies the Separatists with all their weapons, including their droid army, making him largely responsible for all the deaths that occurred during the Clone Wars.
- As shown in canon material such as Rise of the Separatists, Tambor supplies both sides of the conflict with weaponry in order to prolong the war so he can profit from it.
- He occupied the planet Ryloth, ruling with an iron fist and forcing most of the planet to a near famine and forcing countless villagers into slave labor.
- He had the tactical droid TX-20 use Twi'lek villagers as living shields against the Republic in order to assure the republic could not make a move on him without risking casualties.
- When he was about to lose his control over Ryloth, he had caused bomb runs on inhabited Twi’lek villages in order to wipe out the entire population of the planet.
- After kidnapping Echo, he forced him to relive his own death on loop for months on end which left with severe PTSD.
- He ordered his droids to execute the Bad Batch while mockingly thanking the clones for doing their part and coldly telling Rex that Echo is "dead".
- He is a coward who tries to bribe the Republic forces whenever he’s outmatched, and in Legends, he tried to bribe Anakin into sparing his life.
