Once we were older, Mom and Dad would turn us over to be individually adopted by families of greater means, and go on to adopt more young children... They were perfect parents — or so I thought. Paimon: And then...? Wriothesley: And then I found out we were merely raised as livestock. Once we had reached a certain age, our "parents" would bring us to the market for sale. All children that were sold would leave the house, and nobody would know what became of them. As for those who didn't sell... they were merely "disposed of." Did you know? I once considered myself an extremely lucky child. And all of my friends — all of my siblings — they all felt this way as well... I was also not the first to find out about the truth. All those who found out before me were simply added to the disposal pile. I could never shake the feeling of irony every time I juxtaposed their tragic ends against our parents' adoring smiles. The Traveler: That explains a lot. Wriothesley: Yes, like the Society, my parents created a facade of joy, lied to satiate their desires, and even employed incredibly cruel methods to keep their grasp on power. They did all of that, but never considered how their actions would utterly ruin all the children they took under their wing. Worse, perhaps they never cared about that at all. —But I did. Wriothesley: So, in the end, I killed them, and set all of the remaining children free. I was convicted for my crimes, and exiled to the Fortress of Meropide. |

Wriothesley's Foster Parents were the posthumous characters in open world role-playing video game Genshin Impact. They were the foster parents who adopted Wriothesley when he was an orphan alongside several children. In truth, they were actually a pair of human traffickers who sold many children and would "dispose" any children who cannot be sold or found the truth about them.
What Makes Them Hate-Sink?[]
- They were actually the human traffickers who manage to hide their true facade to the general Fontainean public by helping the lost children into finding their home. They raise and sell orphaned children like livestocks, and when any children were unable to be sold or found the truth about them, they would be "disposed of".
- When Wriothesley was a child, he initially believes that they were kind & doting parents towards him and his adopted siblings. When he's a teenager, he found the bitter truth that they were actually faking their facade all-along to sell or "dispose" children when they're coming of age in human trafficking business. No tears were shed when Wriothesley killed them to avenge the "disposed" children, while risking himself to be sentenced for imprisonment in Fortress of Meropide.
- They committed human trafficking without considering how their actions would affect the orphans. Although Wriothesley believes that they never cared about them possibly to begin with. 
- Even after their deaths, their actions greatly shaped an emotional trauma within Wriothesley's heart into what he become today as a Duke of Meropide. 
- Wriothesley was even saddened & horrified about the fate of the children whom they had sold off, as he believe that whatever happened to them couldn't have been good.
