“ | Do you know how many lives you've ruined? Yes, you know. You understand it all. You know the wretchedness of your actions as you steal the coin of the peasants and the innocence of the girls. You know, and so you are afraid. Selûne is a goodly god, so I've heard, and thus will have nothing to do with the likes of you. I call you a fraud, and there is nowhere left for you to hide. | „ |
~ Entreri before killing Yinochek. |
Yozumian Dudui Yinochek is an overarching antagonist of R.A Salvatore's The Legend of Drizzt and a major antagonist of its spin-off Sellswords, serving as the main antagonist of Road to the Patriarch. He was the high priest of the Protector's House, a sect of corrupt priests. He personally raped several young women using his authority.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He twisted the Protector's House to fit his own hedonistic ends, by having his priests tell every inhabitant of Memnon that their loved ones would go to hell if they did not give them money. As a result, Yinochek and his priests became enormously rich and spent all their time living in luxury, while everyone else became incredibly poor.
- He would take women who had recently lost loved ones and rape them violently, telling them that if they did not allow him to, their loved one would go to hell. He would then throw them out onto the street and forget about them immediately, regardless of whether or not he had impregnated them. He encouraged his fellow priests to do the same, saying that it was the only way to "clear their minds of earthly desires".
- When Artemis Entreri came to kill him, he tried to escape while his soldier fought him, before trying to justify his actions in order to save his own life.
- In general, he is a self-righteous narcissist who believes that he is above everyone else because he is a priest and feels no remorse for his actions. He sees those around him as simply his tools or his toys, and condescendingly mock anyone he meets. He also hypocritically accuses the poor of being greedy for valuing what few possessions they, while he indulges in every form of luxury and hedonism. Despite this, it is clear that deep down, he knows what a monster he is and doesn't care.
