Yuuki Kagurazaka is the main antagonist of the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Web Novel. The final version from the Light Novel who is an sympathetic and likeable Anti-Villain with many redeeming qualities and sometimes teaming up with the heroes sometimes. However, his earlier Web Novel draft counterpart completely lacks those redeeming and sympathetic qualities, being a far more malicious and deceptive individual with a god complex who seeks to remake the world in his own image and will happily betray and exploit anyone just to achieve his own goals, showing a complete disregard for human life too.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
In General/Background[]
- While he does have the same tragic backstory like his Light Novel version, where he lost his parents to a drowsy truck driver, where he believed the driver was unfairly punished. However, the Freudian Excuse doesn't hold up unlike his main series counterpart, as instead of doing his acts to end injustice, he decides to just destroy all reality out of spite when he got sent to the Central World. His crimes aren't even remotely connected to it one bit, making his tragedy not hold up, unlike his main series version.
- Unlike his main version who cared about Rimuru (prior to them being enemies), Hinata, Class S and the Modern Harlequin Alliance, he has no care for anyone as he faked it or lost all genuine care by the end of the Web Novel. He only allied with Velda out of pragmatic reasons for his usefulness.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Web Novel)[]
- He pretty much commits almost all the same crimes as his Light Novel version abet different and altered, plus some like mind controlling Chronoa to be his pawn or using Veldanava's remains to form a weapon to destroy everyone.
- His defeat of being sealed away inside of Rimuru's Chaos World was played for satisfaction for his crimes, and even Shizu's spirit lost any sympathy for him.
- While he does have multiple "Evil Are Cool" Moments, his hateable traits outweigh it too much.

- His main series version is a Magnificent Baddie since his tragic backstory still holds up, is On & Off, and has many redeeming qualities with a lot of charm and intelligence.
