Ziro the Hutt is a minor antagonist in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He is a mob boss operating out of Coruscant and the uncle of Jabba the Hutt and the great-uncle of Rotta the Huttlet. Seeking to ruin Jabba's life and have Rotta abducted and potentially murdered, he conspired with Darth Tyranus of the Order of the Sith Lords to become the biggest mob boss of all.
He is voiced by Corey Burton.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He has no regard for his own family, as he conspires to have his great nephew kidnapped and has no problem with the possibility of the Separatists murdering him and blaming the Republic. Rotta also happens to be a baby, proving Ziro has no standards at all. He even lied about the contrary only for Senator Padme Amidala to call him out for sounding unconvincing.
- He also treats his men like absolute trash, using KRONOS-327 to undergo intricate missions for years and having him melted down the first time he fails to carry out a mission, despite him having obviously done his very best.
- He is very incompetent, especially for a Hutt, just being a low-level thug who will never get big and will never stop trying. Senator Amidala called him out for almost foolishly murdering a Senator on Coruscant no less, and Darth Tyranus played him like a harp.
- He is shown to be very whiny during his prison break, which exasperates Cad Bane.
- Him cowering before Jabba on a hologram and later being shot down by Sy Snootles are played for satisfaction and the latter is quite a poetic callback to him destroying KRONOS-327 in an extremely similar context to his own destruction.
- Unlike Jabba, who can't count as a Hate Sink, he is an incompetent freeloader who has no standards whatsoever, and saying he loves Rotta is like saying Darth Sidious loves Rey Palpatine.
